East Texas Lakes

While Lake Palestine will likely become your go-to spot, our prime location gives you easy access to other renowned East Texas lakes, each with its own unique personality. This means you’ll never run out of new places to explore.

  • Lake Tyler: Just a bit further to the northeast, Lake Tyler is another popular destination, especially for its fishing and boating scene. It’s a great option for a change of scenery and a different kind of challenge for anglers.

  • Lake Fork: Known as the “Big Bass Capital of Texas,” this lake is an absolute legend in the fishing community. If you’re a devoted fisherman, Bullard’s proximity to Lake Fork will be a major plus. It’s a bit of a drive, but a pilgrimage for many.

  • Lake O’ the Pines: To the north, this lake is known for its beautiful, serene pine-forested surroundings, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful camping trip or a quiet day of fishing

  • Community Space: The park provides another great option for events and gatherings, with well-maintained facilities that are perfect for everything from small get-togethers to larger community events.

Bike Trails

The name “Legacy Trail” is a tribute to its origins. The trail’s main segment is built along the old Cotton Belt train route, a historic line that was instrumental in the growth of East Texas. By repurposing this corridor, it has created a path that not only offers a beautiful space for recreation but also preserves a piece of the city’s history.

The trail is a fantastic 4.5-mile stretch of 10-foot-wide concrete, making it perfect for a variety of activities:

  • Biking: The smooth, paved surface is ideal for cyclists of all levels, from casual family rides to more serious training.

  • Walking and Running: The wide path provides ample space for walkers and runners, ensuring a comfortable and safe experience.

  • Bird Watching: The trail winds through scenic areas, including sections with ample tree coverage, making it a peaceful spot to observe local wildlife.
